Campsis; Trumpet Vine:
This is a deciduous climber, which has amazing flowers.
It is also a relentless grower, it clings on to walls a bit like Ivy and can easily grow through fence panels.
It will grow about 6ft long new shoots each year, so if you do want to grow on (as they are spectacular) you need a sunny sheltered spot and a large space without window frames or guttering too near!
We haven’t used Campsis in any of our small garden designs – but we do use lots of other plants that are much better (we think).
