Mulberry trees live for several hundred years, which is great. They have large leaves and produce lovely delicious dark red/black fruits.
The trouble is birds also love the dark fruits – and sadly this turns their bird poo purple! So if you don’t eat them, the birds do and then you get lots of bird doop to clean up along with the purple mess created by the falling fruit that you didn’t eat.
We haven’t used Mulberry in any of our small garden designs – but we do use lots of other plants that are much better (we think).
