These are commonly known as ‘Red Hot Pokers’ – unless they’re yellow. However, these do send up tropical looking spikes of red (or yellow) flowers, that do really make the garden look bright and sunny.
The not so good side is that they can be a little prone to bugs and the foliage ends up looking like the floor of a teenagers bedroom. But if you stick these plants where their undercarriage is a little hidden, you can forgive the untidiness when they throw up these pokers!
