Tall, floppy and easily damaged, loved by slugs, snails and aphids. Also quite prone to powdery mildew. However they are a popular plant, so there must be plenty of gardeners who are prepared to tie up, stake, spray, preen and nurse these plants into spectacular displays!
If you want to grow Delphiniums, then you will have to look after them or you will be disappointed with the resulting display.
We haven’t used Delphiniums in any of our small garden designs – but we do use lots of other plants that are much better (we think).
