This is definitely in the ‘happy flower’ category. Borage has the most gorgeous flowers, which are beloved by bees and butterflies and it produces masses of these flowers in the summer. You can get blue borage and white borage.
The downside of the plant is that in spite of the pretty flowers, it is a little untidy and has a tendency to be a bit of a flopper. So plant it and then push in twiggy stems around the plants to ‘hold ’em up’, and you will enjoy lots of happy little flower faces staring up at you all summer!
Borage flowers can be added to salads or more indulgently a borage flower, frozen into an ice cube and dropped in your Pimms…..need we say more?
