Mint is lush, green, smells delicious and is edible – a perfect plant? Well yes as long as it’s in a pot..plant it in the ground at your peril.
It has a voracious appetite for spreading everywhere quickly.
Having said all that, if you happen to brush past a pot of mint on a summer day, it is the most wonderful smell. Mint as you all well know is also really good in a sauce or in ice-cream. So as long as it’s planted in a sturdy pot, you are fine to have it in the garden.
Oh and most importantly, a sprig of mint is essential for your Pimms!
