Lysimachia Punctata; Loosestrife:
Words like ‘rampant habit’ and ‘plant in a wild part of the garden where it can’t swamp everything else’ phrases are used to describe this plant.
It positively thrives in damp soils. If you have a large lake, then great swathes of this plant could be quite pretty, but all the lysimachias spread quite a bit so be careful where you plant them.
We haven’t used them in any of our small garden designs – but we do use lots of other plants that are much better (we think).
