Cornus

Cornus Alba; Dogwood:

Cornus are one of those plants that are pretty boring to look at for much of the year, so you tend to have them as a background plant, but they do have a party trick…given a little summer sunshine, once the leaves fall off in winter, they  can produce the most colourful red, orange and yellow stems. Which is great if everything else in the garden is looking a little flat and dull by Xmas!

There are loads of Cornus varieties, we use Cornus  Alba Sibirica and Cornus Alba Aurea in our designs mainly because we love the leaf and stem colours.
