Cimicifuga Racemosa: Black Cohosh

This will certainly get the neighbours asking what it is. These tall plants can send up spires of white flowers up to 6 or 7ft high (in the right spot), now some people don’t like the smell – it’s a slightly bubblegum smell, but we think it’s nice. So if you have a shady damp spot, this could be plant for you. There is a green and a purple-leaved version, so it’s just racemosa for the green version and ‘atropurpurea’ for the purple leaved version.
