Physalis; Chinese Lantern: 


Once planted these will pop up all over the place unless you strictly referee the physalis plants.


Use a spade to chop around the roots each year. They are pretty though and make lovely dried flower arrangements, but again in a small sized garden, these are more of a pest than a pleasure.

We haven’t used this in any of our small garden designs – but we do use lots of other plants that are much better (we think).
